U.S. Federal Innovation 10/365: Landsat

Since 1972, NASA's Landsat satellites have collected information about Earth from space. Landsat's moderate resolution imagery provides a continuous record of environmental change on Earth. Using Landsat's calibrated panchromatic, false-color, and thermal infra-red imagery, land planners and scientists can measure and evaluate the impacts of urbanization, drought, deforestation, desertification, and many other regional and global changes.
