U.S. Federal Innovation 4/365: National Parks

A well known U.S. innovation that I (Steven Moore, CEO) have to include because of my previous life in natural resources management. With the establishment of Yellowstone National Park in 1872, the U.S. implemented what has been described as America's best idea. Established in 1916, the National Park Service now manages nearly 400 sites nationwide and provides recreational experiences for 275 million visitors annually.
